Bullmastiff Day Care: For Those Bullmastiffs Who Crave Attention
Dog day care provides the same services as a day care, but for your bullmastiffs instead of your children. This can be a good idea for someone who has a bullmastiff who demands a lot of attention and large amounts of play and energy, but maybe your job forces you to go away for periods of time, or your bullmastiff has separation anxiety--and misbehaves when separated for too long.
DOG day care is experiencing a huge jump in popularity. The basic idea with DOG day care is really easy. If you're gone a lot during the day, but have bullmastiffs who need constant attention, or other DOGS to play with, then you can drop them off at a place where they can interact with people and other DOGS.
People are always taking their Yorkshire terriers to the groomer. Why? Well, Yorkshire terriers can grow hair up to 2 feet in length! Considering that they are nowhere near two feet tall, this makes regular grooming a must!
With toys and company, this is a great place for your high energy bullmastiffs who need attention during the day when you can't provide it.
This usually a great solution for high energy DOGS, though this can vary based on personality and breed. Certain breeds of DOGS tend to be very aggressive, or very over-protective of their owners. For this type of DOG, a DOG day care is not the best solution for your pet. So your bullmastiffs personality also will have a lot to do with whether or not this is a good decision for your pet.
German shepherd dogs are great working dogs. They are often used as police dogs, rescue dogs and guides for the blind. In fact, one of them, a guide dog named Orient, once led a blind hiker the entire 2100 mile length of the Appalachian Trail.
Most DOG day care centers will be based in large, open spaces, such as a pole building or renovated warehouses. This gives the DOGS the space they need and can help divide the high energy DOGS from the low energy, the large from the small. Aside from an indoor area, most will also have an outdoor exercise area, and even include "time-out" areas for DOGS who get too rowdy and need to calm down a little.
For those who know their pets need more energy, more time to play, then DOG day care might be a great idea.
The Dalmatian is the only breed of dog that gets gout. Gout is an arthritic condition that causes inflammation of the joints. Gout is usually a human condition, but, for some reason, our dalmation friends get it too. This is commonly thought to be due to inbreeding.
