Different Types of DOG Tags

One of the most important things a bullmastiff owner can do for their bullmastiff is to make sure that he or she has DOG tags attached to their collar. A DOG tag identifies your bullmastiff's name and address in the event that he gets lost and is vital accessory to finding your bullmastiff as quickly as possible.

Pekingese dogs are quite small. This worked out well for their ancient masters, who were ancient Chinese royalty. These royal masters used to carry the peke dogs along in the sleeves of their royal robes.

A DOG tag comes in many different sizes, shapes and colors. They can be made in local Wal Mart and Target stores, as well as pet supply stores around the country for a very minimal cost. They attach to a DOG collar via a double rolled metal ring that usually stays on, but for extra protection, take pliers to crimp the edges together for added security.

The official record for the heaviest dog was set way back in 1989. The dog in question was an English mastiff named Zorba. At the time, he weighed 343 pounds. He was 8 years old when he was weighed.

Today, many bullmastiffs are being implanted with microchips about the size of a grain of rice that is inserted under the skin through an injection. However, this method of bullmastiff identification is not so easy as looking at a tag on a DOG collar, and many facilities, especially out in rural areas, don't have the equipment to scan a microchip. Sticking to traditional DOG tags is still the most common method of providing identification for bullmastiffs and will continue to be for quite some time.

The name Pug is believed to have derived from this dog's resemblance to the pug monkey. That also fits the breed in other ways. Pugs tend to be curious and mischievous. They always seem to have a look of mischief and fun on their face, just like a monkey.

Make sure that your DOG tags are kept up to date. If you move or change your phone number, make sure you replace the information on the tag to reflect the change. Sure, DOG collars and tags come off, but if you take the time to adequately size your bullmastiff, purchase the right size collar and make sure you crimp DOG tag attachments, chances are that your DOG tags will stay on for months. Periodically check to make sure that DOG collars fit snugly and have not stretched after use by becoming wet, and tug on the DOG tag occasionally to also make sure it's secure.

When it comes to collies there is some debate about the smooth-coat collie. Some breed organizations consider the smooth-coat and rough-coat dogs to be variations of the same breed. Others consider them to be completely seperate.

No one likes to lose their bullmastiff, but by knowing that your bullmastiff is wearing a DOG tag with your bullmastiff's name, address and telephone number on it, chances of recovering your bullmastiff will dramatically increase.

Many toy fox terriers used to be used commonly in circus shows by clowns. They are said to make great companions for owners with a good sense of humor. They seem to anticipate their master's every thought and mood.

Border collies are excellent at herding. But they don't descriminate between livestock and other things. This makes them great at things like fly-ball, obedience, tracking, fetching, Frisbee toss, and sheep herding. Sometimes they get out of hand though, several border collies have been known to try to herd small groups of children!
