Inbreeding causes about 3 out of every 10 dalmations suffer from some sort of hearing loss. The good news is that, like deaf people, they can easily be taught to recognize words in sign language and still make excellent companions.
1) When your bullmastiff behaves or commits an intolerable act, give him or her a deep, short growl. The growl is effective because it emulates the canine's mother. Just as the pup's mother would confront the bullmastiff face to face with the growl, you should do the growl in your puppy's face to discourage the unwanted behavior.
